This guide explains how to document canonical sacraments in Kononia and issue certified bilingual certificate PDFs.

Canonical Registry System

Sacramental records in the Orthodox Church are historical documents of vital canonical importance. Kononia provides an unalterable, secure registry system that tracks all required canonical fields.

Core Registries Supported

  • Baptism & Chrismation: Capture date, officiating priest, sponsors, godfather/godmother.
  • Holy Matrimony: Track officiating priest, groomsmen, maid of honor, canonical clearances, and dates.
  • Funerals: Document passing dates, service details, and canonical notices.

Recording a Holy Sacrament

To log a sacrament in Kononia, follow these administrative guidelines:

  1. Click on Sacraments in the sidebar.
  2. Select the specific sacrament registry (e.g., Baptisms).
  3. Click Log New Sacrament.
  4. Enter the required information, linking the registry record directly to the member’s profile.

[!IMPORTANT] Always verify that the recipient’s spelling in English matches their passport or legal documents, as this will populate the bilingual certificate fields.

Generating Bilingual PDF Certificates

Once a sacrament is saved, you can print a high-quality certified document instantly:

  1. Go to the sacrament record you just logged.
  2. Click the Print Certificate button.
  3. Choose the design template (Default/Premium).
  4. The system generates a bilingual (Arabic & English) PDF containing digital verification seals.
