Online Payments & Giving
Kononia supports secure online giving, enabling members and visitors to contribute using digital wallets and credit cards from anywhere.
1. PayPal & Card Integration
Online donations are processed through our secure PayPal integration:
- Accepted Payment Methods: Supports PayPal accounts, Venmo (where available), and direct credit/debit card entries.
- Security Standards: Financial details (card numbers, passwords) are processed entirely on PayPal’s secure network. Kononia never stores or views sensitive card data.
- Immediate Receipts: Once a donation is approved, the system generates a receipt and logs the transaction immediately in your dashboard history.
2. Real-Time Transaction Verification
Behind the scenes, the system connects directly with payment networks to ensure alms are recorded accurately:
- Instant Processing: The moment a payment completes, PayPal communicates the confirmation to Kononia.
- Automatic Allocation: The donation is routed to the designated fund (e.g. Building Fund) chosen by the donor, updating campaign meters instantly.
- Failed Payment Alerts: If a card is declined or a bank transfer fails, the system logs the issue and notifies the donor, allowing them to update details.
3. Visitor Checkouts
Guests can contribute easily without registering a login account:
- One-Click Donations: Clicking the public donate button allows guests to make one-off gifts quickly.
- Email Receipts: Visitors enter their email to receive tax-compliant alms receipts automatically.
- CRM Integration: Church administrators can review guest transactions and link them to new visitor contact cards in the directory if desired.
