How to organize classrooms, promote students, and schedule teacher rosters.

This guide details how to structure academic years, manage student progression, and coordinate teacher schedules in Kononia.

Structuring Sunday School Classes

The educational structure of Sunday School in Kononia revolves around academic terms and classrooms. You can define custom classrooms linked to specific age ranges or grades.

Setting Up Classrooms

  1. Navigate to Groups & Education in the sidebar.
  2. Click Create Group / Class.
  3. Choose the type (e.g., Sunday School or Bible Study).
  4. Enter class details and link it to the appropriate grade level.

Academic Year Promotion

At the beginning of each church academic year, Kononia makes it simple to promote students to their next grade classes.

The Promotion Utility

Instead of manual reassignment, use the bulk-promotion tool:

  1. Go to the Groups Dashboard and click Promote Students.
  2. Select the source academic term and the target term.
  3. Review the auto-calculated class promotions (students are advanced by age or class level).
  4. Click Apply Promotion to transition all classrooms instantly.

Coordinator & Teacher Scheduling

Avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure curriculum topics are covered efficiently by using the active servant scheduling calendar.

Scheduling Servant Rosters

  1. Inside a classroom view, click the Servant Roster tab.
  2. Select a Sunday on the calendar and click Assign Servant.
  3. Pick the core teacher, helper, or backup servant.
  4. Input the curriculum lesson or topic to be covered.

[!NOTE] Servants receive automated SMS or email reminders 48 hours prior to their assigned Sunday detailing the lesson curriculum plan.
